Although Apple was the first smartphone manufacturer to adopt a notch display, today’s competitors have completely abandoned this design and removed the notch.
Emphasizing the notched screen design, Apple has made the notch a bit smaller in the iPhone 13 series that it introduced last year. It is reported that Apple will abandon the notched screen and use a punch-hole screen in the iPhone 14 series, which will be released this year.
Notchless iPhone coming
Apple’s new patent shows once again that we may see a notch-less iPhone in the coming years. The US Patent and Trademark Office has granted Apple a patent that eliminates the notch on the iPhone and positions the TrueDepth camera system behind the phone’s screen.

The patent image above shows the difference between the iPhone camera notch and how the cameras will be hidden in future designs.
What to expect from the iPhone 14 series?
To start, iPhone 14 can be placed as the next generation smartphone line that Apple will present after the iPhone 13 series. The Series in the question should include four different models iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max basically have similar specifications, but iPhone 14 will come with a relatively smaller screen, while iPhone 14 Max will provide a larger screen.
iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will promise more advanced features. Again, the iPhone 14 Pro comes with a relatively smaller screen, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max will get out of the box with a larger screen.
These four models are expected to be introduced in September 2022 and go on sale in the following weeks. The sale date of the new phone models in our country will be November 2022 or December 2022. We can expect the price to be higher than the iPhone 13 series.
